Don Jones

In 1982, after graduating from Albright College in Redding, PA, with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree, Don began his long and distinguished career in the Fixed Wing aviation industry. Don has worked as an FAA Part 121 Flight Dispatcher for a regional airline and has owned two different FAA Part 135 Operational Certificates.

From 1984 to 1992, Don served Air Ambulance Network, Inc. (AANI) of Miami, FL as its Director of Dispatch/Director of Sales and Marketing. Under Don's leadership, AANI grew to become the largest air ambulance broker in the country. During his tenure, Don held numerous positions focusing mainly on sales, flight coordination, management, and business development.

Beginning in 1992, Mr. Jones served as a minority owner and Vice President of Operations for Air Response of Orlando, Fl. Don was instrumental in building Air Response from a 2-plane operation to 17 full-time aircraft and the company soon gained a reputation as a premier operator for air ambulance transportation between Europe and the US.

 

In May 2002, Don founded Air Ambulance Specialists, Inc. (AASI) of Denver, CO, and served as its President and CEO through 2009. At AASI, He created a new business model known as a "floating base" fixed-wing system in the air ambulance industry. Don's innate ability to develop loyal and long-lasting relationships with customers and vendors spearheaded AASI’s  growth to over $30M in sales in just 4 years. AASI was acquired by Emergency Medical Services Corp (EMCS) in July 2006.
